Which should you buy?
The Renogy DCC50S is the value/convenience pick: it combines alternator charging AND a solar MPPT in one box, so a simple van wiring diagram needs one fewer component. The Victron Orion XS is a pure DC-DC (no solar input) but is more efficient, runs cooler and has Victron's monitoring — pair it with a separate MPPT. Choose the DCC50S to simplify wiring and cost; choose the Orion XS if you want best-in-class efficiency and already have a controller.
